New Build Timber Frame Home in Henley on Thames
Vision Development were approached by our client in January 2018 and by May 2018 we were instructed to commence the timber frame design for the new build home in Northfield End, Henley on Thames.
We were advised very early on that the access to the plot where the house was to be erected was through a covered entrance of 3.5m wide and a little over 3m high with a narrow road leading to the sites driveway, so plans were immediately put in place to overcome these restrictions.
The lorry transporting the pre-fabricated panels was unloaded at the road and the panels were then transported through the covered archway via a trailer hooked onto the back of our erectors truck and carefully delivered to the site where they were then lifted with the use of a telehandler.
The timber frame assembly commenced on site on the 14th August 2018 and was complete by 7th September, a total of 19 working days. With large steel beams required in the roof and also through the ground floor, precision and care was taken to ensure the fixing of these beams were completed safely using the telehandler and a crane jib with slings for lifting the heavier materials into place.
With the timber frame structure now in place, the builder can commence the brickwork to the external of the ground floor and roofers can commence the felt and battening of the roof ready for tiling.
