Our work on the award-winning Yarrells Early Years Centre in Poole, designed by ECA Architecture + Planning, demonstrates how intelligent timber frame construction can bring ambitious architectural concepts to life with speed, precision, and sustainability at the forefront. Set within protected woodland, the project incorporated complex roof geometry, elevated structural detailing, and advanced closed-panel timber frame systems to create a highly efficient building that sits naturally within its environment. Manufactured off-site for enhanced quality control and rapid installation, the scheme highlights Vision Development’s ability to support architects with technically advanced, design-led timber frame solutions from concept through to completion.
Build Process
Vision Development South Ltd are currently undertaking the timber frame installation of a new early years classroom block at The Yarrells Preparatory School, Poole.
The state of the art, eco-friendly building will house 6 classrooms and an open-plan hall which is due to be completed for September 2016.
The design of the new building was to create a low-impact structure using natural materials and low-lying roof design to respect the natural woodlands surrounding it. The roof was constructed on-site due to its complex design which is a double curve surface with a twist in opposite directions.
In six weeks the entire timber frame structure has been erected, roof is almost complete, first fix services have begun inside the building and the cladding has been installed to the external face of the building.
