Three New Timber Frame Terraced Homes in Binfield, Berkshire
Local developers, Howell Homes approached Vision Development following a recommendation from one of our previous customers.
With designs for a terrace of 3 new timber frame homes offering 3 bedrooms with the master bedroom to the second floor, the developer wanted a quick and cost-effective construction method, which our open panel design with convenient service void, fitted perfectly for this development.
The speed of construction is best shown (albeit sped up!) in our time lapse video of the timber frame installation which you can watch below.
With the main frame installed, the internal face of the external walls could then be fitted with H Control Hybrid (vapour control layer) and battened ready for plasterboard. The external walls, with brickwork finish will achieve a U Value of 0.16.
The roof we insulated with 155mm Hybris insulation, H Control Hybrid (to underside of rafters) and battened ready again for the plasterboard. The roof will achieve a U Value of 0.14 and also benefit from an overall better air tightness throughout.
The owners of these wonderful new homes are certainly going to save money on the heating costs!

The roofs on these new homes were constructed using loose rafters in a traditional cut roof method. The flat roof areas are also decked with 18mm OSB3 to assist the roofing contractors with their finishes.
