Timber frame buildings offer design freedom
Thermal performance requirements for new build homes are far stricter with new goals to meet zero carbon emissions. However, for Timber Frame buildings, these regulations don’t restrict our design freedom!
The construction industry is now getting to grips with the new regulations and timber frame is leading the way in answer to the zero carbon goal.
Timber frames well insulated external walls, generally of a slenderer thickness, provide designers with greater freedom and the benefit of relaxing perhaps, other areas of the energy provisions for a new build home.
Prefabricated timber frame external walls have excellent thermal efficiency. They feature reflective membranes to both external and internal face allowing timber frame construction to achieve your design idea, with low U. Values (a measure of thermal transmittance) and reducing air permeability.
Well-insulated, airtight timber frame buildings have a quick heating response time, meaning the occupants benefit from a fast-heating home with low heating bills too.
