Padworth Timber Frame Development – Update
Following on from our recent blog article on the new development Vision are involved with on the Bath Road, Padworth. We have now completed the installation of the timber frame for Houses 10-13 and the ground floor panels are currently being fitted for houses 7, 8 & 9.
The first delivery of timber frame panels for Houses 10-13 arrived on site on the 5th December 2017 with the second delivery following on the 18th December 2017 which held the first floor panels. The trusses also arrived this day so with the use of a crane, the panels were installed and trusses lifted into place for fixing.
From first delivery, the 4 houses have taken 3 weeks to construct (discounting the 1 week Christmas break) so the team on site have been working hard to keep us on schedule!
With the structures in place, the apertures for the external doors and windows, as well as the corners of the building have fire socks (fitted to reduce the spread of smoke and fire) but also acting as additional insulation to the entire construction. You can see the addition of the red fire socks above.
With the roof now ready for felt and batten on 10-13, our erecting team can move onto the next three houses that are being constructed, Houses 7, 8 & 9.
The ground floor panels have begun to be installed for all three houses with the next load of panels arriving on site week commencing 15th January 2018.
The sole plates for the panels have been installed ready for the ground floor panels to be fixed onto.
Soon the first floor panels will be installed along with the trusses and we will have a further 3 houses completed.
The final construction on this development will be 5 flats which we have commenced manufacture of and due to start on site late January/Early February for erecting, so keep checking back on our website for more information and photos.
