Garden House

New Build in HighclereTim and his team were most helpful from our first visit to them, when the idea first arose to build house for our daughter and son in law in our garden. At every step of the way Vision Development's organisation and schedule were exactly on time. It is not an easy site to access, but no fuss was made, and the frame was up and finished within two weeks. Tim was always on hand to answer any queries or problems from the council with great patience and information. We are thrilled with the house, and we would highly recommend Tim and his team for any project.

Fantastic Cabin in the Woods

Timber Frame CabinReally happy with our new cabin. Communication with Tim and his staff was great from the off, which reassured us we were making the right choice. Once the structure arrived on site it flew up and the standard of finish is great. Other builders and the building inspector from the council have commented favourably on the quality of the materials used and the quality of the construction itself. We made a couple of changes 'on-the-fly' which were accomodated by the contractors on site (although I'm sure they won't thank me for suggesting that they enjoy awkward customers). We are really happy with the building itself, but the best bit is that when people ask how much it cost and we tell them, they are stunned by how affordable it is.

Off with the Old & On with the New

Large Extension to Chalet BungalowOur project wasn’t a simple one, but there again it would seem that most things we do never are.

Unlike most people who are sensible and build a house from the beginning so everything is designed together, our project was to turn an existing poorly insulated 1960’s chalet bungalow into a large more efficient aesthetically pleasing house. Many timber frame manufacturers wouldn’t entertain such a scheme due to the technical difficulties of matching the new timber structure to the existing masonry walls. Vision Developments however were happy to take on the challenge. They worked with us and our drawings to design the structure that would enable them to match the new timber frame to the old imperfect walls. Just to make things more difficult for them we then broke the news that we also remaining resident in the house during the work. Un-phased by our stupidity Vision put together an efficient sequence of work to seamlessly remove the existing bungalow roof, erect the first floor wall panels, partitions and crane in the huge 9 metre wide roof trusses to complete the outer shell as quickly as possible. It was very much a case of “Off with the old and on with the New” which enabled the building to be stripped and water proof again all within one month. During this time there were a few hic-ups and challenges where we would make a few “last minute” adjustments. The workmen on site however were very friendly and organised, and worked efficiently to deal with these issues to get our structure up as fast possible. Without the confident, helpful and professional approach of Vision Development the work to our house would have been far more difficult and stressful and we would not have been able to remain in the dwelling while the work progressed. We highly recommend them.

Two storey extension and replacement roof

Open Panel Extension in Sonning CommonWe contracted Vision to provide us with the timber frame for our self build extension. The roof was quite complex and demanding in that we replaced the whole existing roof while we were still living in it! We needed someone who could handle this and felt Vision right for the job and they were local.Adam led the project from liaison with the technical drawings through to coming on site and building it. This worked well and went very smoothly. The construction only took a few weeks which considering the nature of the build was very good. Vision also helped us by additionally providing the groundworks and recommending their preferred contractors like the scaffolding. All in all they were very helpful, did what they said they would and ran on time. We would like to thank the whole team for their input in realising our home.

Beautiful Bespoke Home

Closed Panel Home in South OxfordshireIf you only have time to read the headlines of a review about Vision, this introduction will tell you all you need to know.

Firstly, you are dealing with a family owned and run business that has been around for decades. Why does family run matter? Well if you are thinking of working with or buying from Vision it means they care. Each member of the family team have important roles that they each take great pride in, because what they do matters. As a unit they are trustworthy, responsive and a real pleasure to deal with. It is a great shame that such good businesses are so rare to find in this day and age and for that reason alone, I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Our Experience:

Vision built us a bespoke eco house in South Oxfordshire. Pre-sale, they completely understood our requirements and quickly agreed the design of our new home. The attention to detail for design and procurement of materials was outstanding. The very best materials were sourced internationally to complete the build of our A+ energy rated home.

The speed and completion of the work was exactly to time; in fact Vision showed us such faith and trust as the sale of our family home fell through and they professionally and patiently handled all of the delays that this caused us.

The finished product is of the highest standard – It really has a wow factor and we just can’t wait to go home every day to our new home. Not only is the home beautiful, the functionality and energy efficiency is amazing. It uses the very latest MHVR technology to ventilate and heat the property. Just a single hour of underfloor heating in the morning will keep the entire property heated to about 22 degrees for the entire day. We are producing more electricity than we use so our energy bills are nominal.

Vision’s aftercare has been amazing –anything that we have asked has been promptly answered and any teething problems have been handled excellently. No problem is ever too big or small for them to handle, you are never made to feel anything other than welcome when you call. We would have no doubts in recommending them – if this wasn’t our forever home, we’d buy another one!

Yarrells School Classrooms

Timber Frame School Classroom in PooleVision did a superb job for us and the school. We designed a timber frame building with an unusual butterfly roof. Vision worked very hard to deliver the scheme we designed. They were reasonably priced and extremely quick on site. The timber frame flew up and the result was excellent. The school are very happy with the building. It has performed well thermally as well.

Timber Frame Flats in Watford

Timber Frame Flats in WatfordMy task was to build 4 flats in a very tricky location in Watford. Choosing the right timber frame manufacturer and erecters was vital for this project as the level of difficulty in accessing the site demanded skilled erectors and professionalism. Vision Development and its team carried out their duties to my full satisfaction and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering timber frame.

Timber Frame New BuildWe have recently had built a new build property in Kingston Upon Thames measuring over 4,000 square feet with Vision Development creating the construction. This was an ultra modern build and was executed in the most efficient and practical manner with the utmost high quality of design and finish. A most sturdy construction with high quality wood. And even more important was the excellent help and assistance given to us by Tim and Jane Karpinski. Well done Jane & Tim.

Two Storey Extension

Timber Frame Extension in LiphookWe have recently had a two storey extension from Vision and would like to say that, we cannot speak highly enough of this company, from the friendly family feel when we visited them before placing an order, right through to completion of the building. Roy, and his team of Christian, Nathan, Paul and Ben were on site every day at 8am and worked their socks off, even on the first two days when the heavens opened they still ploughed on, nothing was to much trouble and what a fantastic job they have done for us. The whole process has been a pleasure and we would like to thank all at Vision Tim, Lucy and everyone for your help guidance in making it a pleasure. We will be back for our next project.
