Our New Timber Frame Build in Chapel Row is Almost Complete!

Our own timber frame new build development in Chapel Row is almost complete with the final works to the internal finishes and landscaping very nearly done.

For the last update on this build (click on link to see article), we had completed the external larch cladding to the whole of the first floor and started the rendering to the ground floor.

The Oak porch has now been installed to the front entrance, the balcony to the West elevation and carport to the East elevation. To the corner of the building we have introduced a decked area using a composite decking from Arnold Laver which will provide the new owners with an area to dine outside which leads from the open plan kitchen/dining area.

Internally the house is becoming a home with all the fixtures and fittings installed including the wonderful kitchen supplied by Howdens in Newbury fitted by ourselves in a soft sage green with Shaker style cabinet doors. The stylish worktops were provided by Southern Counties Marble & Granite and come in Kashmir Lime granite.

The flooring to the main ground floor areas is a vinyl flooring supplied to us by Porcelanosa in a wood effect which offers comfort, durability, and maximum stability. For the kitchen/dining space this flooring is the perfect solution creating a more open space and communal feel to these rooms.

The ground floor also benefits from a large utility area, mirroring the kitchen with the same Shaker style cabinets in sage green. Plenty of storage space and accommodation for white goods.

Leading upstairs, the Oak staircase, made to measure by Multi-Turn features a large Curtail step and glass balustrade. The underside of the stairs has been boarded with flexible Plywood to give a tidier finish.

To the first floor, all three bedrooms benefit from an en-suite bathroom, all sanitary ware is supplied by Porcelanosa and rather than bathroom tiles we opted for a panel system by IPSL which comes as a kit and are ready to fit. With a high-quality laminate face on marine plywood, these panels are the market leader in waterproof wall boards.

All the bedrooms have been carpeted with the bathrooms featuring vinyl wood effect flooring.

The master bedroom benefits from both sliding doors leading out onto the balcony, but also a large, fixed feature window. This room certainly will enjoy plenty of natural light and views of the garden and woodland.

All the external windows and doors have been supplied by Viking Window AS and are timber with double glazing.

Internal Oak doors were acquired from Todd Doors.
