Timber Frame Houses in Kenilworth, Warwickshire – Phase 2

Since our last blog article on the three new timber frame houses in Kenilworth we have built the two outside homes and the middle home is now being stick built on site by our erecting team.

With the external walls erected, the teams then commenced fitting the timbers together to form the internal walls. Below are some photos of the construction.

The external walls are made up of 140mm timbers and 9mm OSB board.

The internal walls are built from 89mm lengths of treated timbers.

With the external and internal walls erected, the posi metal web joists can then be installed to provide a flooring level ready for the first floor. The 22mm flooring is laid on the top of the joists and the first floor panels are assembled similarly to the ground floor (which also included structural steel beams) ready for the roof joists.

You can see the use of the telehandler for lifting the required materials to the roof for the installers to fit.

Below the 18mm OSB roofing boards are now installed ready for the roofing contractors.

The construction will be completed before Christmas with the hard work of our erecting teams on site working through ice and snow to ensure the schedule was met for our Client.

We will provide a further update on the build in the New Year as the houses progress and external finishes are completed.
